Overview
Hillsong Young & Free, also known as Hillsong Y&F, is an Australian Christian music praise & worship group from Sydney, Australia, where they started making music in 2012, at Hillsong Church. The group formed in 2012 out of Sydney, Australia, where they were located at Hillsong Church. Their members are worship leaders, Aodhan King, Alexander Pappas, Tyler Douglass, Renee Sieff, Taya Smith, Ben Tan, and Melodie Wagner. Hillsong United [launched in 1998], the original group, got underway when the members were all pretty young, because it was started as part of the youth ministry at Hillsong Church. As they evolved and started to mature, have families of their own and take on adulthood, many people at the church felt that there was a need for a new group that would aim its message at younger people with a stimulating new sound.

Hillsong Young & Free released their first live album, We Are Young & Free, was released on 1 October 2013.[4][5][6] The album debuted and peaked at number 6 on the ARIA Albums Chart in Australia,[7] also charting on several Billboard magazine charts in the United States, peaking at No. 22 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Christian Albums chart.[8] Their subsequent release an extended play, This Is Living, was released on 11 January 2015.[9][10][11] The release charted on the Billboard 200 at No. 38 and No. 1 on the Christian Albums chart. Their second extended play, The Remixes, was released on 4 December 2015. The second live album, Youth Revival, was released on 26 February 2016.

Y&F - THIS IS LIVING [EP] - 2015



Bringing the sound of Hillsong Church's Youth Ministry, Young & Free is kicking off 2015 with the release of their new EP This Is Living. Releasing January 13, the EP features five tracks, including three new songs, and is full of the energy that is becoming synonymous with Young & Free worship. The EP highlights are the opener and title track - a collaboration with Grammy-winning rap artist Lecrae - as well as a newly recorded version of "Sinking Deep" (from We Are Young & Free). An acoustic version of "This Is Living" is also featured.
"For us it was a dream come true to collaborate with Lecrae who we not only love and respect as an artist, but as someone who is a strong voice for freedom to this generation. If anyone's message echoes the message of 'This Is Living' it's Lecrae," shares the Young & Free team.

Y&F - ALIVE (Single) - 2013



With their debut album coming out in October, Hillsong Young and Free has previewed their record with the release of its inaugural single "Alive." Hillsong Young and Free is entirely the work of the church's youth ministry. So, it has stayed clear of Hillsong's major song writers and leaders such as Reuben Morgan, Darlene Zschech, Matt Crocker, Ben Fielding and so forth. Rather, "Alive" is written by their new in-house team of Aodhan King and Alexander Pappas. But like all their receding Hillsong efforts, "Alive" is no slouch as far as the charts are concerned. In its debut week, "Alive" has already topped the Australian Itunes Inspirational chart and it is currently charting at number 50 on the Australian pop charts! With the hype currently surrounding the team and the song, when "Alive" is finally released in North America similar success fleets are predicted.
